Oil line Option 3: Parts List
To keep your Defender from looking like the one below you will need the following parts:

There are a number of things you need to know in order to get the right parts.
These are:
RADIATOR TYPE: Fixed or Removable
ADAPTER PLATE TYPE: 18mm or 20mm or 1997 Defender
YEAR and MODEL: 1997 NAS Defender 90, 1994-1995 NAS Defender 90 or 1993 NAS Defender 110
See below for how to figure out what you have:
RADIATOR TYPE:
There are 2 types used in the NAS Defenders.
We call them the FIXED fitting type and the REMOVABLE fitting type.
1993 NAS Defender 110s all came with the REMOVABLE fitting type, but over the years the radiator may have been changed, so be sure to check.
Some very early 1994 NAS Defender 90s came with a REMOVABLE fitting type as well, but most 1994-1997 Defender 90s have the FIXED fitting type.
To tell the difference see the images below:

Above is a REMOVABLE fitting radiator. The fitting you see will unscrew leaving only a threaded hole in the radiator, and you will WILL NOT need radiator adapters to set up your lines with this type.

Above is a FIXED fitting radiator. These parts are made into the radiator. These are found on most 1994 Defender 90s and all 1995-1997 Defender 90s. They are also seen in 1993 Defender 110s that have had their radiator replaced. You WILL need radiator adapters to fit upgraded lines to this type. ECR part #RADADAPT (shown below).

These are ECR part #RADADAPT (shown above). They come as a pair as you will need both to make your oil lines work. They also come complete with the required two O rings (not shown).
Below is an image of what the adapters and the lines look like installed in a 1995 NAS Defender 90:

The RADADPT parts convert the oddball Land Rover FIXED fitting radiator to a standard 8AN fitting so that you can use parts from any speed shop to make your oil cooler lines.
ADAPTER PLATE TYPE:
There are 3 types of set ups used in 1993-1997 NAS Defenders to get oil to and from the engine:
18mm or 20mm or 1997 Defender
1993 NAS Defender 110s all came with the 18mm fitting sandwich plate, Land Rover part #ECR8501, but over the years parts may have been changed, so be sure to check.
1994-1995 NAS Defender 90s all came with the 20mm fitting sandwich plate, but over the years parts may have changed, so be sure to check.
1997 NAS Defender 90s all have a unique system that does not use a sandwich plate between the oil filter and the engine.

The banjo fittings that enter your oil cooler adapter, or sandwich plate, have two different size heads. The type with the 15/16" heads mean you have the 18mm adapter (Land Rover part # ERC8501).
The type with the 1 1/16" heads mean you have the 20mm adapter and you will need to buy an different sandwich plate or find some hard to find 20mm to 8AN fittings.

The image above shows a new ECR8501, the 18mm adapter sandwich plate as commonly found on stock 1993 NAS Defender 110s. It also shows just what a sandwich plate is in case you wanted to see one out of the Defender.

This image, above, shows an after-market sandwich plate. This one is made by Mocal and it is simple and trouble free. We also find that because the input and output are lined up on the Mocal (unlike the ECR8501 and the stock 20mm Land Rover sandwich plates) it makes for a cleaner install in the Defender engine bay. You can source a Mocal sandwich plate through many sources on line, or through your local speed shop and you can even get them with a thermostatic control if you like. When ordering a Mocal adapter be sure you order the fittings and seals you need (as seen in the image above) so that you can complete your install, as they come without the fittings from most suppliers. The Mocal unit is far cheaper than the ECR8501 from Land Rover and the Mocal works better in our opinion, due to better line routing. If you would like to buy the Mocal set up above from us with all the fittings and seals it is ECR part # SP1.
If you have a 1997 NAS Defender 90 you do not have a sandwich plate at all. The oil inlet and outlets are cast into the timing cover on the engine itself.
To set up oil cooler lines on your 1997 NAS Defender 90 you will not need a sandwich plate, but you will need the ECR timing cover adapters, shown below.

These, above, are ECR part # 97ADAPT. They come as a pair as you need them both to complete the job and they come complete with the 3 needed O rings required to install them properly (not shown).
YEAR and MODEL:
Once you have sorted out what radiator you have and what sandwich plate you have you now can order your parts from your local speed shop or an on-line speed shop like Summit or JEGS.

The image above shows a typical set up for upgraded oil cooler lines on a 1993 NAS Defender 110. This type of set up uses the original 18mm sandwich plate, as you can re-use it easily with 18mm fittings and some 8AN parts to get rid of the factory oil cooler lines for good.
Here are some rough break downs of the parts you can use to make a set up like the one shown above to help keep your NAS Defender from getting BBQ'd:
We use Russell and Aeroquip parts, so those part #'s are given but many manufactures make the same types of parts.
