ECR's Oddball parts for DIY customers
To keep your Defender from looking like the one below, you may need the following parts that we will gladly sell to you for your own DIY installs:

RADIATOR FITTINGS:

These are ECR part #RADADAPT (shown above). They come as a pair as you will need both to make your oil lines work. They also come complete with the required two O rings (not shown).
RADADAPT $67.50
(for the 2 fittings with the 2 required Land Rover Genuine Parts O rings) Shipping additional
Do you need them? Read on.
There are 2 types of radiators used in the NAS Defenders.
We call them the FIXED fitting type and the REMOVABLE fitting type.
1993 NAS Defender 110s all came with the REMOVABLE fitting type, but over the years the radiator may have been changed, so be sure to check.
Some very early 1994 NAS Defender 90s came with a REMOVABLE fitting type as well, but most 1994-1997 Defender 90s have the FIXED fitting type.
To tell the difference see the images below:

Above is a REMOVABLE fitting radiator. The fitting you see will unscrew leaving only a 3/8" NPT threaded hole in the radiator, and you will WILL NOT need radiator adapters to set up your lines with this type.

Above is a FIXED fitting radiator. These parts are made into the radiator. These are found on most 1994 Defender 90s and all 1995-1997 Defender 90s. They are also seen in 1993 Defender 110s that have had their radiator replaced. You WILL need radiator adapters to fit upgraded lines to this type.

The RADADPT parts convert the oddball Land Rover FIXED fitting radiator to a standard 8AN fitting so that you can use parts from any speed shop to make your oil cooler lines, as shown above.
ADAPTER PLATE:

This image, above, shows ECR part # SP1. We find that because the input and output are lined up on this unit (unlike the ECR8501 and the stock 20mm Land Rover sandwich plates) it makes for a cleaner install in the Defender engine bay. The SP1 is far cheaper than the ECR8501 from Land Rover and the Mocal works better in our opinion, due to the better line routing. If you would like to buy the Mocal set up above from us with all the fittings and seals, as shown above, it is ECR part # SP1.
SP1 $75.00
(as shown above with the sandwich plate system, 2 seals and 2 8AN fittings) Shipping additional
1997 NAS DEFENDER 90 TIMING COVER ADAPTERS:
If you have a 1997 NAS Defender 90 you do not have a sandwich plate at all. The oil inlet and outlets are cast into the timing cover on the engine itself.
To set up oil cooler lines on your 1997 NAS Defender 90 you will not need a sandwich plate, but you will need the ECR timing cover adapters, shown below.

These, above, are ECR part # 97ENGADAPT. They come as a pair as you need them both to complete the job and they come complete with the 3 O rings required to install them properly (not shown).
97ENGADAPT $102.45
(for the 2 fittings with the 3 required Land Rover Genuine Parts O rings) Shipping additional
All the alloy adapters on this page are manufactured by ECR.
The sandwich plate is manufactured by Mocal.
We hope these custom parts, that we use daily in our own installs, will help you with your own Defender work.
