1993 NAS Defender 110 #180/500 Repairs

This 1993 NAS Defender 110 is a replacement for the owners original NAS 110. The original NAS 110 sent to us was completely shot and only a restoration could have saved it. The customer did not want a restoration though, so we were able to sell the junk 110 to a customer who did want a restoration and through a dealer located this 110 that is in much better shape. It isn't perfect, but it is worlds better than the other truck. The plan for this 110 is to get it up and running and make it a nice driver 110, but not a restoration. We are happy to do as much or as little as you you like.

First up is to service the 110 from front to back and make sure everything is in working order. The mechanical aspects of the 110 are quite good, it just needs the typical service and repairs that any nearly 20 year old truck would need.

As with most original 110s there are some rust issues. The main sections of the chassis (frame) are in good shape, but where the rear wheels have thrown dirt and road debris at the rear cross-member, that steel has seen better days. The good news is that we can replace the rear section of the frame without having to take the 110 off the frame or tear the entire vehicle apart.

Some of the other steel parts on the 110 has also seen better days. The tops of the rear body, or cappings, rust because they were only painted on the outside. Over time the rust has taken hold and blistered the paint off from the inside out. The cure to this is that we will replace the cappings with new units that are epoxy primed and painted inside and out so that this issue can not happen again any time soon.

Here is a shot of the new galvanized rear cross-member about to be pulled off our inventory shelves. It doesn't matter if it is a big job or a small job we stock almost everything for a Defender so that your repair or modification job goes smoothly and progresses nicely. Next up we will remove the cappings and cut out the old rear cross-member.
