Series III 88 hard top
This Series III has come to us from Cape Cod. It suffers from some major rust from the salt environment and needs a new frame badly. However, the customer didn't want to do a full restoration or tear down of the vehicle at this time, but the frame still had to be replaced. Fortunately he called ECR. In our frame swap system that we introduced to the USA almost 10 years ago, we can change the frame, without taking the entire truck apart.
In this image you can see our unique frame swap system at work. The frame has been removed, but the bulkhead, wiring, and body stay together as a unit. The rolling chassis is then stripped of its axles and drive train and the rusty frame discarded. The axles and running gear is then bolted up to the new Marsland galv. frame and readied for install into the 88.
Here you can see the new galv. frame with the original running gear in place on it. The frame is then set up for the body with new brake lines and new rear wiring harness (all part of our frame swap and included in the cost) and installed on the 88.
Here it is, the completed frame swap, yes, it is that simple. The owner also had us take care of some small items such as a new exhaust and a tune up, and now the 88 is ready to roll. It will be shipped back to Cape Cod so the owner can get back to Rovering in his 88 with a new galv. frame.
