Safety Devices custom safari cage installation
This 200 Tdi powered Euro Defender 90 has come to us from Vermont for some minor repairs and the installation of a Safety Devices RBL1155SSS safari cage.
Unlike the NAS Defender 90 cages, this is an interior cage that adds support to the roof system, just in case of the worst case.

The main structure of the cage is this sturdy hoop that mounts to the body and the frame. It is zinc coated and then powder coated in satin black for a nice finished look once inside the 90.
Here you can see the cage installed in the Defender. The customer had done some modifications to gain some seat travel, so the installation had to be a custom one (as the bar needed to be moved back to allow for full seat travel), but here at ECR that kind of custom work is no problem. We fabricated the required changes and then got everything installed, buttoned up and looking good.
The beauty of the Safety Devices cages are they are designed to fit. There is no need to re-invent the wheel. The engineers and Safety Devices have already done that, and the cages go in without issues. This saves thousands of dollars off having some sort of custom one-off cage made. This new cage system looks good and adds great piece of mind, especially considering how weak the factory roof is without a cage. The 90 is now ready to head back to Vermont for fun on the trails and roads.
