1989 Range Rover Classic
Roof repair and minor work orders
This 1989 Range Rover Classic has come to us from NY with some storm damage that needs to be repaired.
Unfortunately a tree limb fell and stabbed right through the roof of the Rover, as you can see in the image above.
The headliner in this Range Rover Classic has also seen better days, and the tree limb didn't do it much good, so we'll be replacing the roof panel and the headliner, as well as sorting out the sunroof so that it will function correctly. We'll also tackle a few other minor things to get this Rover ready to head back to NY.
The first step in this process is to remove the damaged roof section and headliner. Once the pieces are removed, as you can see in the image above, we take off all the cross over parts (parts that need to be re-used on the new panels) and then get to work on the needed paint work for the new roof.
Here you can see that the new roof section has been epoxy primed and painted in the correct Portafino Red by our in house paint shop. We'll now repair the sunroof system to work correctly and swap over all the parts from the old roof to get the top section ready to go back on the Rover with new seals.
In this image you can see that the new roof section has been installed and all the sunroof parts have been repaired as needed and installed in the new roof for a correct factory fresh look.
A new headliner was installed, along with a new sunroof trim piece and we also replaced some old damaged plastic pieces as well to make the headliner look as good on the inside as the new roof panel does on the outside.
Here is the completed repair, a much less leaky Rover! The Range Rover is now ready to head back to NY where the owner will continue to enjoy it, and we'll keep our fingers crossed that no tree limbs head his way.
